I bought these torches expecting a really high quality product because they were so expensive. Indeed they are made of solid brass and seemed heavy duty, but they have major flaws in the design. The first torch I tried to put together didn't seem to have the right parts and there were no instructions about how to assemble it. I opened a second package and found the problem. The torch head on the first package had a screw-in connection to the pole instead of a socket with a set screw like the second package contained. Clearly I couldn't make this work so I decided to return all units. While I was trying to pack the units back in the box I noticed a major flaw; the chain holding the top cap kept separating. Turns out the chain links are simply pressed together and not soldered, so they pull apart easily. Third flaw is the top cover with the wick kept falling off. This is because the top cover simply sits in the base reservoir of the torch and is not threaded or fastened in any way. This would allow torch oil to fly out of the reservoir if the torch were bumped or tipped over, which could create a huge fire. Fourth flaw was the finish was splotchy. Not sure why, maybe it's some kind of coating to protect the brass from tarnishing, but it made the torches look old and weathered. Save your money and get something that is better designed.I was tired of cheap flimsy torches, so I splurged on these. There was an issue with one of the poles, and I texted the phone number provided on the receipt and received a prompt reply and replacement piece within a few days. Now that everything is set up and working as intended, I’m happy with my purchase.I specifically like that they’re generally weather proof, and I can leave them on the patio rain or shine. They’re very luminous on a dark night; and keep the mosquitos away.The torches are nice. However we ordered four and each one had to have the set screw holes bored so they would like up properly. Could not just assemble with ease. Luckily my husband is handy and he used his electric drill motor to drill into the post so the holes lined up. I also think it would be best to have the tops "screw" on to the reservoir rather than set on. Should these torches ever tip or get knocked over, the tiki oil would fly all over the place. Best to screw the cover on and have the oil contained. I hate to think of one of these torches burning and a child ran into one with a toy or motorized cart, the oil would spray all over ..... the thought makes me cringe.These torches are beautiful. We really like the large capacity reservoir for fuel and the ability to mount the torches to our deck. We had a problem with one of the sections on one of the metal stands. It was crooked and the screw hole didn't line up with the torch holder. The owner of the company included a letter in the box that had his personal cell phone number in case there were any problems with the torches. I texted him, got an immediate response, and in less than a week there was a replacement on my porch. GREAT CUSTOMER CARE!!! We are so pleased with the product and the fantastic response from the company that we just ordered 2 more torches.I have been looking for unique outdoor Garden torches for some time. I came across these and thought they were different than all I have seen both online at many many sites, as well as in stores. The torches were much bigger than I thought they would be and they are gorgeous. One of the brackets was defective and the seller responded immediately and ensured that I received they quality of the product I paid for. Not only a beautiful product, but excellent customer service!!! Highly recommend!!!I purchased 2 torches, and I intended to purchase 4 but they were out of stock. I was concerned that torch and oil reservoir was going to look ridiculously big (because the dimensions in the specs are rather big) but in the context of an outdoor setting, the scale of these torches looks about right. One certainly does not need to worry about running out of oil in the reservoir during a long evening.The pole comes in 2 pieces which at first was another concern for me, as this joint is often a weak point in the fabrication of a typical torch (or umbrella or any other item typically imported), but the 2 pieces of the pole screw together nicely, and the joint is fairly strong and subtle looking.Each torch arrived with a small base plate that could be anchored to a hard surface. The plate is not large enough or heavy enough to support the torch without anchoring it to one's deck or patio. I set my torches in the dirt of my yard and they are sturdy enough for me. I may use the base plates someday, but I do not need them now.Very easy to assemble and use. Sturdy and well made. Great for parties. I have 6 of them.Great
